The original Atari ST had very limited ability to manage certain system settings. But later, there were several control panels that gave you more options and configuration settings.

The XControl panel released by Atari allows you to load a wide variety of specialized control panels that you can access anytime during your system operation. To clean up your root directory, it also had the ability to relocate your control panels (CPXs) into a sub directory of your choosing.
