Atari ST - Adding, Customizing Desktop Icons on Your GEM Desktop

Here's the first in a series of how to add program icons to your Atari ST Desktop. Before Windows was even born, the Atari ST allowed you to place program icons on your Desktop.

It allowed you to create one for data drives, printers, CD sources, etc. but it also allows you to pin a icon shortcut on the desktop. You don't have to browse to the file location to run. A simple icon installation allows you to place several icons on your desktop for easy launch.

A bit later we'll discuss custom desktop icons including icon packs that give your GEM desktop a little pizazz.
